The Director General of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) Paid a Courtesy Call on the Burkinabe Minister of African Integration and Burkinabe Living Abroad
On Thursday June 6, 2019, the Director General of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) met with the Minister of African Integration and Burkinabe living abroad, H.E. Paul Robert Tiendrebeogo, in Ouagadougou.
The main issue discussed was the follow-up plans from the Minister’s recent visit to Bobo-Dioulasso regarding WAHO’s fading and problematic infrastructure. The Minister informed the DG of a meeting to be convened by the Prime Minister for the necessary intervention.
Also discussed was the ongoing processes of increasing WAHO’s visibility and a suggestion was made to have a WAHO Professional Officer deliver a pertinent health topic on the National TV on a determined frequency. Another suggestion was to publish through the “Service de Governance.”
It was agreed that both WAHO and the Ministry of Integration would hold follow-up meetings to agree on how to proceed.
The DG and the Minister finally discussed the need for WAHO staff training in matters of security.
