Project Development Objective (PDO): Accelerate demographic transitions in ECOWAS Francophone countries

Specific objectives:

  • Strengthen the role and missions of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) in steering and knowledge management on population and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) issues;
  • Strengthen political advocacy for sexual and reproductive rights and health, and promote the emergence of civil society in these areas;
  • Strengthen the capacity of ECOWAS Member States to develop and implement policies and strategies for sexual and reproductive rights and health

  • C1: Strengthening WAHO's Observatory Function
  • C2: Support to the Regional Financing Mechanism
  • C3: WAHO Capacity Building
