WAHO DG on familiarisation visit to ECOWAS countries: Visit to Binin

Cotonou, Benin, 24 April 2018 - The new Director General of the West Africa Health Organisation (WAHO) Professor Stanley OKOLO, is on a familiarisation and working visit to Benin.  Arriving in the evening of  23rd April in Cotonou, the Director General of WAHO first had dinner with the Minister of Health of Benin, Dr Alassane  SEIDOU and his staff. In the morning of 24th April, Professor Stanley OKOLO had a tête-à-tête with the minister Dr Alassane SEIDOU. During the discussions the two men assessed the cooperation between Benin and WAHO. The Director General then had a working session with the various Heads of the Ministry of Health whose institutions benefit from WAHO’s support. During the session, the discussed the progress of the various projects and programmes supported by WAHO in Benin, highlighted the challenges, as the case may be, and made suggestions accordingly.

At the end of the session, the Director General of WAHO will go to the city of Ouida, to the Regional Institute of Public Health, an establishment which received significant support from WAHO.
