WAHO to build a state-of-the-art health center at Bo Waterside, in Liberia

Bo Waterside, Liberia, October 20, 2017 ' As its contribution to fighting cross-border diseases and epidemics, the West African Health Organization (WAHO) decided to build state-of-the-art health facilities at the Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone borders. The three countries have been chosen because of the Ebola crisis that affected them.

This promise is being fulfilled and on October 20, 2017, WAHO in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Liberia has performed the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the first health center at Bo Warch, the Acting County Health Officer, Grand Cape Mount County, the District Commissioner, Tewor District, representing the Superintendent and a representative of the Special Representative of ECOWAS Commission President as well as the WAHO Liaison Officer for Liberia.

Also present at the ceremony were the chiefs and people of Bo.

The total cost for the construction is estimated at 440,000 US Dollars according to the Deputy Director General of WAHO, Dr Laurent Assogba.
