Bobo-Dioulasso, 25 August 2017 – Following the death of the Speaker of Parliament of Burkina Faso, H.L. Salifou DIALLO, the Director General WAHO participated in the various funeral ceremonies organised in Ouagadougou.
Thus, on Wednesday 23 August, the DG witnessed the arrival of the body at the Ouagadougou International Airport, in the presence of several national and foreign personalities. From the airport, the DG accompanied the body to the home of the deceased, where he presented his condolences to the bereaved family and signed the book of condolences opened for the purpose.
On Thursday, 24 August 2017, the DG also participated in the various ceremonies organised at the headquarters of the MPP, his party (in power), at the Parliament, and at the Sports Stadium to pay a last homage to the illustrious departed. The body was conveyed to Ouahigouya on Friday to his home, where he was buried late afternoon in the presence of the President of Burkina Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré and his nigerian counterpart, Mahamadou Issoufou.
WAHO staff joins their DG to also present their condolences to the burkinabé people, to the family of the Speaker, Salifou DIALLO, who was of great support to the activities of WAHO.
We still remember the organisation of the high level conference on demographic dividend held in Ouagadougou from 20 to 22 July 2017, which was marked by strong commitments by ECOWAS parliamentarians, and those of Mauritania and Chad, with the Speaker Salifou Diallo providing the necessary impetus.
